Trafficking Jam

Sex trafficking has inspired a multi-million dollar ‘rescue’ industry around the world – but are they making it better or worse for the people they are trying to save?  Sex workers do not deny trafficking is a problem and if a person has been kidnapped, held against their will, raped, forced or deceived into prostitution they are often the first ones to try and do something about it.  But many sex workers fear that this anti-sex trafficking movement has been hijacked by the evangelical right-wing and some radical feminists who conflate sex work with sex trafficking and promote policies that only further criminalize and isolate them. Trafficking Jam will follow Korean-Australian sex worker, Jules Kim, as she travels from Australia to Thailand, South Korea, India, France and the United States to work with sex workers and meet with social workers, government officials, anti-trafficking and slavery groups to uncover some of the myths and realities behind this controversial social issue.
